It’s hard to criticise

With the commencement of our practical on the Friday of week 2, it was time to show the aspects of our  “Self Portrait” to our classmates. We were introduced to De Bono’s hats, this is a system using differently coloured fictitious hats to assist in providing feedback. Each colour representing a way of thinking and giving feedback depending on the ocular hat you were.

RED = Our initial feelings

GREEN = An alternate or another suggestion

BLACK = Something that didn’t seem to work

YELLOW = Things that worked well

So one at a time we presented our pieces of media, then when it came to give feedback, we found that it was hard to give negative feedback. It felt like we were insulting who the individual is, and worse, we don’t know each other that well, so it was difficult. But definitely a good bonding session.
