THERE ARE NO EARLIDS

WHAT?! We don’t have earlids? Well, obviously, but I’ve never really thought about it. This weeks lectorial, which happened last week, was constructed around sound. A memorable aspect of the class was the phrase, “there are no earlids”. I found it very interesting and thought provoking. Because, unlike our eyes, we can’t deliberately block out all sound, without an external…

I can’t describe myself

It’s time, Project brief #2. I really had no idea how to approach this, everything just kind of unfolded while I was editing. I remember thinking hard about what I could do, and it just got too much. So I left the house with some mates and just filmed some skating. This really helped me escape from having to…

Haiku

To help get our heads around Premiere Pro, we got handed a task to create a haiku video, whatever that is. Our class didn’t get to do the exercise in class time so I stole everyone else’s footage, #soznotsoz, and created one for myself. I’ve been using Final Cut Pro for about 10 years or so, so it was just…

Time to edit.

I think the true skill in editing is, to be able to produce something amazing compared to what you are given to start with. And that’s where I’ve found myself. Not the best media, but hopefully I can produce something worth while after editing everything.

It’s hard to criticise

With the commencement of our practical on the Friday of week 2, it was time to show the aspects of our  “Self Portrait” to our classmates. We were introduced to De Bono’s hats, this is a system using differently coloured fictitious hats to assist in providing feedback. Each colour representing a way of thinking and giving feedback depending on the…

Me

Self Portrait Images: So lets start off from where I am from. I grew up in a small mining town called Orange, in the central west of NSW. It’s an okay town, to be honest I could definitely not live there. But I am very thankful I grew up there. This is my teddy “Big Ted”. I’ve had him since…

HOLY MOLY

So, I found out today that for cinema studies we had screenings each week, and had to write blog posts about them. So many blogs! Anyway, today we watched Holy Motors, I had never heard of this film before, so going into the screening I didn’t know what to expect. At the end of the screening, I didn’t know what…
