Today my group and I began to put together our Media Artefact Prototype. We have decided to create an interactive website to discuss Media Texts and Textual adaptation.
We decided on the text ‘Romeo & Juliet’ by William Shakespeare because it is a text that has been adapted or ‘remixed’ a multitude of times in many different ways.
We have decided to interview a friend of mine, a dancer who performs adaptations of text and understands the process of textual adaptation.
After we presented our prototype, we got some really good feedback from Rachel and the class. They suggested that we stay on a more ‘narrow’ path in regards to our case studies and only focus on Romeo and Juliet.
Rachel also suggested that we contact the head lecturer for the ‘Textual Crossings’ which deals with the adaptation of text.
All up, today was a decent success – we definitely have a lot of work to do but I’m confident that we’ll keep on top of it all.
