Nearing the end of semester, all of our class time is used in some way to benefit our projects. This week, Louise’s industry friend returned in order to provide us with some feedback in regards to what we have filmed/edited together. As I had just filmed mine the previous week, I did not have much of an edit prepared, but I showed her my footage. She said that she had enjoyed the style in which I had filmed it, and she enjoyed the slits of light that lay scattered on Robbie’s face at some points of the interview.
Louise then came around to talk to us individually about our projects. We expressed our concerns and fears, but were reassured that everything would work out okay, because it always does in the end. Editing is not my strongest ability as a media practitioner, so this was the part that I was fearing the most about the entire project. We spent the rest of the class editing together our films, all I managed to get done was link up the Zoom audio to the visual clips, which proved to be much more difficult than I had anticipated.
We were then told that in the next class we would be put into groups in order to work on the presentation of the project.
The second half of the week was dedicated to being put into groups for the end of semester presentation for our media studio. I was put into the ‘Website’ group along with 7 other students. Due to having this many students put together a website, there wasn’t much room for task delegation which led me to not having a huge part in any decisions/having much of a role within the group. The other students in the group are amazing, and put together a website in a matter of hours. So, I decided that I be a floater and help out in other aspects where I was needed, such as the end of semester video.
