Signal Tech Post #5

We didn’t have classes last week, but we still met up and discussed how we were all travelling in regards to our roles in our teams.

Considering my role had pretty much been completed, I decided to help out other members in both mine and other teams so that we could get everything set up in time.

I ended up changing the exposures and contrasts on some peoples’ sequences because they looked a bit washed out when projected onto the signal screens. I also had to re-edit a final sequence for the RMIT exhibition as some content was sadly cut from the exhibition due to certain censorship issues.

Additionally, I offered to help out the production team bind booklets together as there was a malfunction with the printing and they were unable to complete it on the set day. It all ended up working out so I’m glad I was able to lend a hand.

My final task for being part of the tech team was to produce two CD’s that contain the sound file posted in my earlier tech post, for the RMIT exhibition taking place on Thursday and also create a complete .mov file on Premiere Pro with both the visual and aural components of the exhibition to present to the rest of the Media Communications cohort.

I’m extremely pleased with how everything went and although there were some pretty difficult times learning new skills, I’m so grateful for the experience.

Stay tuned for the reflection!
