It’s astonishing how uneasy the word ‘feedback’ makes you feel, particularly in a room full of people you only met a month ago. Nonetheless, we all had to share our Self-Portraits with each other and were assigned particular coloured ‘hat’ to reflect the feedback we needed to give.
The 4 Hats:
Red: Reflected your immediate intuitions about the piece, your immediate feelings and thoughts.
Yellow: Positivity and optimism – what you liked about the piece and how it could be improved.
Green: Alternative ideas – suggesting ideas that could make the piece work in a different way.
Black: Caution – critical judgement to help avoid making mistakes .
The feedback was interesting – and the experience definitely made me feel more comfortable. It was astonishing to see how much information people took in about others in such short space of time.
