Project Brief 1

This project looks closely at each student’s home environment to consider the notions of place and non-place. Students will investigate the physical spaces of their home, from its expanse down to the macro, considering how it changes with light, darkness and social dynamics. Students will utilise photography, film and sound.

Students can utilise on hand technologies such as smart phones to professional equipment (Building 9 – Tech loans).

Students are to capture and submit a curated selection of:

• 20 images
• 5 x 5 sec films (no sound)
• 10 x 10sec sound recordings.

Students are to upload images, films and sound recordings an reflection (word doc) to their google shared drive.

– Images jpeg, film mpeg4 (you can use mpeg steamclip for compression), sound mp3.

Post 300- 500 word reflection also to your blog with 1-2 select images from project. 

Submission by end of Week 2 – Fri 31st July.

Students will upload images and film to a slide viewer program and their sound to a sound-editing program for an experimental presentation on Wednesday 5th August (Week 3)
