The idea of North 10min.wav or Files are here (experimenting with different sizes and file types) If possible, use headphones. Record your impressions in a paragraph or two.
IMPRESSIONS:
– Confusing – given no background or context as to what wil be spoken about
– Boring – her voice is dry, unrelateable… topics boring.
– Confused about the overlaying of voices – what am I even supposed to be concentrating on?
– The voices’ accents sound old.
– Frustrating
– I feel as though I have six different tabs open – all I want to do is rip out my headphones and slam my computer shut.
– Even if there is a message in this, how am I supposed to know what it is?
– Finally, silence. And an introduction! Usually I would have turned it off by now.
– Another uninteresting or capturing voice.
– The people talking in the background sound like a bunch of seagulls
– I like the distance background sounds – the world sounds (not people) but trains, etc.
– The background noise is too loud when the man is speaking – distracting from what he is saying and makes me shut off – because it sounds like the noises I hear when I’m walking down the street or sitting on the train – times when I shut off from the world around me..
– I almost feel this would be more interesting if there were no world sounds in the background – instead, we could just listen to the voices speaking – the sounds detract from what they are saying – as if it isn’t important – it’s almost frustrating sounds – like I have to strain to hear through them.
