Blog Stalk Week 11

So this week I had the pleasure of Stalking Ed’s blog, “The Blog Hole”.
While Ed’s got a number of different interesting posts o a range of subjects, it was his review of The Lego Movie that caught my eye.
I have to admit that I was one of those people who assumed that they wouldn’t like this movie too much at all, thinking it was for children, an advertising brainwash for them to hassle their parents about later.
But, as Ed explains, I seem to be mistaken – and he’s not the only one making claim i’m wrong, with a few people telling me it’s worth the look – something I’ll have to do for sure.
But Ed’s post got me thinking … what could I review to add some substance to this post (since I haven’t seen it).
Now for any of you that know me personally, I am the definition of book worm. There should probably be my picture next to any dictionary definition of the phrase.
So, my review would have to be about a relatively newly discovered (for me) author, who has quickly shot up to be one of my favourite authors. Jennifer L Armentrout.
I’ve read a few of her books, and a few series – and I have to say, there hasn’t been one that I have been disappointed with. However, I do have my favourites.
The Covenant Series.
Oh-ma-gawd. Where do I even begin with this?!
With 7 books in the series, Armentrout has managed to create a world I want to dive into. Her main character, Alex, a sassy and badass Half Blood, who’s run away from her Covenant, only to have her ass dragged back. But there’s one upside. Her pure-blood trainer, Aiden.
Oh yeah, it’s that type of book. Paranormal and action packed, I managed to finish this book in one night, devouring each page. Armentrout had me hooked from the very first page, and if I was wanting any book to movie adaption, I’d put this one down.

Here’s the Blurb: Check it out.

“The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi–pure bloods–have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals–well, not so much.

Half-bloods only have two options: become trained sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.

Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem–staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden.

And that would kind of suck.”
