Blog Stalk Week Seven

Just kidding, it’s Blog Stalking time!
For this weeks Blog Stalk, I went back in time to check out some of Miss Lauren Midler’s K-film sketches, and came across her sketch in regards to her family.

So, as you can see this is an insanely awesome concept – I am in love with it (May have something to do with me being obsessed with eyes???)…
Anyway, Lauren has described her family through close up shots of their eyes.
One big thing that we tend to spend a lot of time focusing on in IM is the idea that we’re never going to be able to control an audiences perception of our artwork, it’s just not going to happen. So, in saying that, i’m not sure whether Lauren meant to achieve what I took away from her sketch… perhaps she did, perhaps she didn’t… perhaps there are things that I’ve missed!
For me, I see eyes as a window to the soul. The eye will always speak, even when the mouth doesn’t. So using an eye to describe someone is a very powerful tool.
Not only do I love this part of the clip, I adore the colour differences and contrasts between eyes… and yes, even Cookie dog’s eyes are in there… because after all, he has to be apart of the family as well!
