Blog-Stalk #4

So one of our constraints for the video sketch task was to film something that moved slow.
For me, my mind instantly jumped to finding something that simply moved slow; slow and boring.
BUT alas, this was obviously not the only way things could be done. As I frequently do, I was looking over Ella’s blog (Because really, she has the best theme, let’s be honest), when I came across her video sketch for something that moves slow.
Now I may be wrong, but I believe Ella’s sketch was honey being drizzled into a container.
A) this is awesome and B) I am really craving honey right now. Thanks Ella.
I have to admit, when I first watched this sketch (obviously without looking at the title), I believed it to be the sketch for something that moved fast. This was due to the fact that Ella had edited her sketch, leaving it in a fast forward type motion.
But that’s exactly why she’s fast-forwarded it (or so I interpret it to be. Sorry Ella if i’m wrong here, forgive me). Honey moves so slowly, that in the space of ten or so seconds, the amount of honey that would have drizzled into the container would have been insignificant and barely noticeable.
It is the fact that Ella has used a fast forward edit that stresses the slow-ness (good english here) of her sketch, and I absolutely love that. It makes you think about something that is really, only a simple action.
