Blog-Stalk #3

Something we discussed in this weeks lecture was copyright laws. And I am not going to lie, this whole topic gets me confused.
We talked about the Johnny Cash project, and how the public was asked to submit their own designs of a certain frame of the music video, before it was all brought together and collaborated to make a flowing film clip.
So how can they use other people’s work? And what about in Social Media? I know I’ve discussed this in another post i’ve done this week, but I still went on a rampage through blogs to see if anyone had some hints to help me out. And I was pretty lucky. Sam had compiled a post that was on the same track as me.
In his post, Sam covers how we believe (common sense really) that we own the photos we upload – we take them after all. but we don’t.
Sam has also looked into what alternatives we have, instead of dealing with these companies and sites that keep our information….forever. Seriously, check it out (and the links he’s provided), it’s an interesting (and scary) read.
