Our group has made great progress since all of our individual pitches. We managed to take aspects of all of our different ideas and combine it into a new idea – outlined below. We all wanted to try different roles in this project, I was happy to get cinematographer so that I can have more hands on experience using different camera equipment. I also get to have a go at editing in this project which will be great as there is going to be a lot of dialogue and there is a lot of room for sound design when creating the party atmosphere in the background.

SYNOPSIS
Following the break up of a seemingly amicable couple, a nearby couple starts to cause a scene with their own separation. Upon reaching the boiling point, the original couple say their goodbyes, panning out to reveal that the second couple were never really there and were manifestations of an underlying conflict.

MEANING
It’s a film about intimacy held between one another and the failure to express and receive affection. The characters are victims of the hedgehog syndrome and are unable to comfort one another without severe pain, thus plunging them into wary distance of one another. This is communicated with a second couple next to them properly communicating their thoughts and desires while lashing out in pain at the other, contrasting the subdued and fake persona’s the other couple hold.
