Media Practical WK 2

Today in the second tutorial for Media we split into groups to give feedback on others work from Project Brief One using the thinking hat system.

Were you nervous about presenting your work?

Yes i was nervous about showing my work, but I think it was still good to present it as I was then able to receive feedback and know what I need to improve on.

What kind of feedback did you get?

I was able to get positive feedback on the composition and colour on some of my media as well as some constructive criticism, all of which was very helpful and I was able to learn from this.

Was the feedback useful?

The feedback from the group was very useful as it helped me to understand what I had done well and what I could also work and improve on in the future.

What is most difficult about the process and why?

I think having to give constructive criticism about other people’s work.

How might you get better at this hat system over time?

In order to get better about using the hat system over time I need to become more familiar with it and practise being able to give people good constructive criticism.

What might be a good way to separate the moments of receiving feedback and actually evaluating it and doing something with it?

Maybe to take notes so that you can go away and improve on it or use the feedback as a reference for another project, I think it is also important to act on the feedback given.

Is it worth reflecting on the feedback both close to the experience and a bit further on?

Yes, if you can reflect on the feedback straight after you can take notes and apply this to another project so you can improve and enhance your skills.
