The last two weeks of the course consisted of sealing loose ends of the final project and curating the exhibition at the Living Museum of the West.
In the beginning of the week I finished the “VALUES” artwork and had all 6 piece printed and laminated on A3 sheets ready to be presented. The girls and I completed final touches in the editing suites and going over last minute details of our project. We ended up cutting down each interview to 3-4 minutes each. We believe that all of the relevant information was included and was engaging to watch.
The following week I worked on the design for the website as that was all that was left to complete. Attached below is the artwork I design for the website.
The day of the exhibition had come and it was an exciting day! As the exhibition managers, Cini, Riley, Harriet and I delegated tasks to our classmates. Our job in particular was to be in charge of the food and the drinks. We spent the afternoon picking up food for our platter and setting it up for our guests. The rest of the afternoon was spent cleaning up the museum, setting up our exhibition and waiting for the guests to arrive. The best part of the evening for me was having my mum come and witness the work that I had produced this semester. She’s always extremely supportive and has kind words to say regarding my work, that I always appreciate hearing. Being able to watch my classmates work and celebrate our accomplishments was very rewarding. All in all, I would say the exhibition was a success!
