Sunday was the day that we shot our principal interview with Jessica Schwientek on the sight of interest, NOIR darkroom and gallery.  On the day only Marco and I were shooting, as Krista was sick. I was unsure of how it would go with a two person crew, but it turned out more than fine! My role was ‘the interviewer’ and Marcos was camera and sound operator.

During our test shoot we fleshed out some of our ideas and finalised the ones we thought were sound, in order for the day of our shoot to run smoothly. The first thing we shot was the interview with Jessica, as that was the thing that needed the most care and attention. Before the interview we discussed which sections of questions would require possible close ups and those which would be better mid shot. The interview went very well, although Jessica had made a point of letting us know she was nervous. Although she was nervous, her answers regarding gentrification were insightful and thoughtful, her perspective on art within community was very interesting and learning about her past and the formation of NOIR was captivating to listen to.

Following the interview Marco and I captured contextual shots to match Jessicas answers, in and around the gallery and studio. We also captured store fronts in the Coburg area, close to Noir.

Next step…. editing!
