“New kid in the city”
A story that follows a student who just moved into the city and how he/she explores the city and school life. It tells a story about the character experiences and people impressions of that character. It will start with the character getting ready to leave the house. The character will make his/her way to school. In the background we can add in music that the character likes, show a music playlist from the character phone. When the character arrives to the class the other students will start to chatter among themselves and talk about the new kid. Once school ends the character will then explore the city and will meet or chance upon anybody that he /she may know or a stranger. The character will have short conversations with the strangers. Instead of interviewing the strangers to give an opinion on the main character we can film it in a way the strangers are texting someone like “I met this person and she’s weird” or the strangers can talk to the person beside them about meeting that new character. The character will have to meet and talk to strangers so that it will evoke the real personality of the character and the audience will be able to see how the character converse with people. In between such scenes we can have some opinions or who the character really is through the family members. The family members are away so we can use different forms that will tell us about the main character. We can film a scene where the parents leave a voicemail message on the house phone. The voicemail message will have the parents complaining about their child always being messy and not doing any housework. Besides that idea, we can do a phone call or videoconference where the character have a talk with the parents. This actions will inform the audience who the character really is. The whole story we will have the character voiceover narration of his/her adventure and encounters. I choose to have the character narrating his/her story so that while reviewing the journey thus far, the character can make comedic comments or truthful opinions. The audience will be able to know more about who the character is.
