PV – Reflection 3

Introduction:

This is my third reflection on authoring and publishing videos on Instagram. I shot this video of one of my daily lives before the last day of locking down for stage 4 according to COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout this content of the video, I’m using this video which are some fragments at home as well as the clips when I’m going out, to find space and time for contemplation during Covid-19.

For this weeks, I’m using different concepts of my video. I’m shooting some of the clips from outside which because I need to purchase some of the staffs last day before locking down, so I decided taking some videos which from trams, my own visuals of perspectives to show to my audiences, to engage the community of: The daily life.

How did you author the video you recorded for upload to Instagram?

I recorded this video with an iPhone 11 pro max on the rear-facing camera. I did not use Instagram for the video shooting at this time as well because I’m thinking use my phone’s original camera is the easiest way for me to shoot as well as arrange the time and spaces. I didn’t use zoom in in my video. I really  like taking some videos when I finish my assignments and lectures, so I always spent 20 minutes just look outside of the window by myself, stay alone and stay calm. From last week, I find that I have improved a lot according to editing  skills, so in this week’s video, I want to try to improve my shooting skills. As I found that, last two week’s video which the lens have a little bit shaking. By improving, I twill ry to keep my hand in a horizontal way to shot this video.

This week, I tried multiple video applications, as I found that ‘Inshot’ as well as ‘Jianying’ which I used lats week is suitable to edit, add texts, captions, and emojis. It is easy to use and easy to add background music as well. So this week I’m still try to be familiar with these applications.

This week, I shot each of my clips longer than before, this will be easy to edit and easy to fix if I want to add something. Through editing, I cut down the length of each clips by more than one-thirds, I use cropping to change all the angles of each shot as well as make sure they are all the size of 9:16. I transferred all of my videos through my phones to iPad and using ‘Jianying’ in there, to addd more texts as well as captions and emojis in there because I want my video becomes interesting, but not so monotonous, I want each of them are unique. After that, I’m using my iPad to do some fragmentary clips, it took me a while to deal with these staffs. According to the background music, I’m choosing ‘First date’ from Frad, so I transferred these videos through my iPad to my computer and putting the background music through Premiere inside of the video to provide a connection with my video.

How did you publish the video you recorded for upload to Instagram?

For the publishing, I exported my video from Premiere then airdropped to my phone to be able to uploaded into Instagram. I want to keep my video size which is 16:9 format, to be able to change the 16:9 format and change cover frame, I loaded it through the Instagram App and followed the prompts to set the 16:9 format also select the cover. After I uploaded it, I add a location to that but a text caption as ‘The day with happiness’, because I want more people to enjoy my video and more people could see this. I will configure my video to play automatically. I would like to work more, take more videos through Instagram app, publishing videos through there as well as trying to change a different application to edit my video and add my captions .

Note: All the video still frames and screenshots are taken from the content I produced.
