PV – Reflection 2

Introduction:

This is my second reflection on authoring and publishing videos on Instagram. I shot this video of my two parts according to COVID-19 lockdown pandemic. Throughout this content of the video, I’m showing the concept of music in our daily life to find space and time for contemplation during Covid-19.

How did you author the video you recorded for upload to Instagram?

I recorded this video with an iPhone 11 pro max on the rear-facing camera. I did not use Instagram for the video shooting as I find using phone’s original camera is the easiest way for me to deal with as well as arrange the time and spaces. But I think I will use filters in Instagram after. I use zoom in when I shot ‘sunrise’ part the same as last week because I think watch everyday’s sunrise is the most glories moment according to this situation. The video clearer as well as highlighting the colour and showing aesthetics. I didn’t move my position as well as camera.

For the editing, I transferred all of my videos from my phone into my iPad, and use the application called ‘Jianying’. This is a Chinese application which has a partnership with Chinese TickTok. In this application, I found there have lots kinds of fonts as well as stickers. In there, I use captions, texts, emojis, to make this video suitable for my emotions and feelings at that time, when I finished add texts as well as tickers, I transferred them to computer, and try to check and correct the small mistakes if I found from there. I edited and deleted some parts in some of my videos to make sure they are suit each other. Then, combine them together in Premiere. I mute all part of my videos, because it’s a little bit noisy, that is in the opposite of my house are under construction. I used the background music to instead of them which is ’50 Feet’ from SoMo. I think this song is very suitable for my own evening time.

How did you publish the video you recorded for upload to Instagram?

For the publishing, I exported my video from Premiere then airdropped to my phone to be able to uploaded into Instagram as the same as the first video last week. I want to keep my video size which is 16:9 format, to be able to change the 16:9 format and change cover frame, I loaded it through the Instagram App and followed the prompts to set the 16:9 format also select the cover. I want to change a filter in Instagram so I use the filter called Lo-Fi, to show it’s artistic. After I uploaded it, I added a location to that but a text caption as ‘hello day’,’sunrise’, ‘music always cure everything’ as my caption and I also add  descriptions underneath as well. I configure my video to play automatically. Next time I think I can try to work more, take more videos through Instagram applications.

Note: All the video still frames and screenshots are taken from the content I produced.
