PV – Reflection 1

Introduction:

This is my first reflection on authoring and publishing videos on Instagram. I shot this video of my daily life according to COVID-19 lockdown pandemic. Throughout this content of the video, I’m using my daily life to find space and time for contemplation during Covid-19.

How did you author the video you recorded for upload to Instagram?

I recorded this video with an iPhone 11 pro max on the rear-facing camera. I did not use Instagram for the video shooting as I find using phone’s original camera is the easiest way for me to deal with as well as arrange the time and spaces. I use zoom in when I shot ‘sunrise’ part, to make the video clearer as well as highlighting the colour. In several parts of my video, I moved my position as well as camera many times to show different spaces to the audience.

For the editing, I transferred all of my videos from my phone into my computer, I edited in Premiere because I think this is the best and the easiest way to cut videos also edit them well. In premiere, when I am shooting the part which is ‘going to the supermarket’, I moved my body into the mirror. I used the ‘start-stop touch’ feature which record into numerous shots, I edited and deleted some parts in some of my videos to make sure they are suit each other, then, combine them together in Premiere. I use a lot of captions, texts, emojis, to make this video more funny. I didn’t mute the first part of the alarm sound, but the rest one, I used the background music to instead of them. I choose the song which is ‘Thank you’ from JUNNY, I really like this song these days, so that’s why I choose this song to become my background music of my daily life video.

How did you publish the video you recorded for upload to Instagram?

For the publishing, I exported my video from Premiere then airdropped to my phone to be able to uploaded into Instagram. I want to keep my video size which is 16:9 format, to be able to change the 16:9 format and change cover frame, I loaded it through the Instagram App and followed the prompts to set the 16:9 format also select the cover. After I exported from Premiere, because my video is over than 1 minute, so I uploaded it as an IGTV in Instagram. After I uploaded it, I didn’t add a location to that but a text caption as ‘daily life according to Covid-19’, I will configure my video to play automatically. I would like to work more, take more videos through Instagram app as well as publishing videos through there.

Note: All the video still frames and screenshots are taken from the content I produced.
