Week 6.

During week 6, we had a pitch presentation within class to share our individual ideas on what we’d want to create for our final assessment. For the pitch, I had two ideas. One was based from American/Asian YouTubers from WongFu’s short video entitled “The Last.” The reason I chose this was because I liked the plot.

My second idea was something my friend back home & I had developed together. The idea was to have the main protagonist, having suffered a traumatic experience (domestic abuse, car accident etc.), go through day to day life, depressed and unable to seek happiness. Until one day, a guy some along and changes that. He guides her and eventually, she starts being normal again. For this, I wanted to shoot in blues and eventually transition to oranges.

Week 7.

The week before the pitch, our group decided to go around the city, taking pictures and test shots for our presentation on Tues Sept 12th. Group members consisted of Margot, Aria & Maddy. Each of us had different ideas/conceptions to put on the table. Margot was interested in reflections/reflective surfaces, Aria wanted to explore the sci-fi theme, Maddy wanted to explore the colour blue and orange & I wanted to discuss the theme of isolation/loneliness. With the help of Thursday’s class (a discussion with Paul), we were able to further develop our idea. My inspiration came from a music video of artist, Birdy & her song People Help The People. I just like the way she is portrayed. Although the song isn’t about loneliness but how the cinematography of her is captured is something I’d want to do. Her softness and vulnerability is something I’d like to convey.
