I cannot believe that this semester has actually come to an end. These last 12 weeks of learning and producing a comedy news show has come to an end! It has been unbelievable experience. Our studio’s exhibition was held on Oct 18th in Building 10.06.64
It was the first time we got to see the entire show as a whole and it was liberating to see all our hard work paid off. Just watching it yesterday in the room made me smile and laugh, remembering the times when the presenters stumbled and messed up as they were trying to read the script off the autocue and all the banter in between takes.
From the pre-production stage, kudos to the writers for making the script both informative and comedic. To everybody involved in the production, it honestly takes a village to produce what we pulled off in a short time span. And lastly, to those who volunteered their efforts and time to edit and put it all together. Honestly, I feel like everybody in the studio collaborated really well together. We had a running group chat on Facebook, where we constantly updated each other with information and used it on a daily basis. Personally what I believe could’ve been better was probably the choice of stories used. I felt like, although yes it was one of the most popular ones, the Bendigo piece was rather boring and the ‘political climate’ was boring too in my opinion because those two don’t spark an interest in me. If anything, this studio is a solely surrounded with collaboration so you need to get along with everybody in the class (obviously to an extent). Not saying you have to become best friends with everyone but you need to be cordial because everybody is just as important.
