This week’s workshop, we had 2 special guests, Catherine & John, who came in to listen to the rough cuts of our project 4 & would give critique about it because they have had years of experience working with and producing audio related pieces. Ben introduced our rough cut to Catherine.

Her feedback on our rough cut, though, was helpful in this regard. We mentioned to her that we were looking at a combined of a documentary and podcast style for the final piece. She thought that she didn’t think that the rough cut really portrayed any facade of an audio documentary, stating that we might want to include interviews with people in the piece to achieve the feeling. She also suggested to be vigilant when using the word ‘you’ in audio pieces because it’s rather strong and it captures the audience’s attention instantly. It’s is also very direct and shouldn’t be overused.
