In todays class we went through project 1. The way we approached this presentation was far from what I was expecting. There was no standing in front of the class and presenting our work. Instead we began with Robbie showing us parts of each of our works that he thought expressed the purpose of this project best.
After we each put our images and sound on repeat from our computers and stood at the back of the class with each laptop playing the various projects. At first it was an information overload with various sounds and images all going at once. It allowed us to see everyone’s works at the same time. This emphasised how different we all worked and how different our approaches were. It also allowed us to get up close and personal with certain projects that caught our attention.
This was the first time we shared our work with the class and there was focus on our places, together this created an element of vulnerability especially when presenting. This was the benefit of approaching the presentations in the way that we did. It removed the focus of each individual work, and allowed us first to look at the works as a whole.
By doing so we created another work, which was made up of each of our individuals works.
