craft of tables
Tables designed to be placed against a wall are known as pier tables or console tables
Most tables are composed of a flat surface and one or more supports (legs). A table with a single, central foot is a pedestal table.
Many tables have tops that can be adjusted to change their height, position, shape, or size, either with foldable, sliding or extensions parts that can alter the shape of the top. Some tables are entirely foldable for easy transportation during activities such as camping.
Craft of handrails
Handrails and railings are to support a continuous load of 50 plf(75 kg-m) or a concentrated load of 200 pounds (90 kg).
While most steel and aluminum members are adequate to accommodate those loads, decorative wood balusters generally fail.
When children are the principal users in a building or facility (e.g., elementary schools), a second set of handrails at an appropriate height can assist them and aid in preventing accidents. A maximum height of 28 inches (710 mm) measured to the top of the gripping surface from the ramp surface or stair nosing is recommended for handrails designed for children.
