Part 3: My Psychedelic Experience

Upon my travels to Sydney, I decided to capture my adventures on a film camera. Not only was this a fun new way of taking photos, it also added an element of curiosity and uncertainty as I was never able to see the photo taken immediately after like you can on a digital camera or Iphone.

This photo was taken at a friends place, we were hanging out as a group and getting ready to go out to this apparently awesome club called the “Jam Gallery”. Little did I know that entering that club would be the most insane experience ever. As I walked in, I could here the music vibrating through the floor and bouncing off the walls turning the room into a different reality, I was no longer in ‘Sydney’ I was transported into a world of noise, rhythm and colour. Oh the colours! fluro patterns everywhere creating images of animals on the walls. Before you think that I was on some sort of substance, I wasn’t I was sober as they come, it was the physical structure of the place that transported me into this psychedelic world. This photo was taken moments before leaving and it honestly depicts the night so accurately, I was trying to portray my confusing and general happiness that night, I think this photo does capture that completely, given the opportunity to retake this photo and make any differences I wouldn’t.
