This year’s global pandemic has changed the way we interact with friends, family and colleagues.

We have realised how essential it is to digitally capture our target markets attention through strategic communications and marketing.

The small businesses that have been shut as a result of COVID-19 are having to adapt quickly in order to carry on and not be left behind. Social media has become the go-to place for small businesses to continue to engage with their community. Creating these authentic connections with consumers is what helps maintain the longevity of these businesses.

Over the course of the year, we have seen businesses get creative with ways to continue to make money while keeping consumers engaged. Concerts moving online, cafe’s creating partnerships, online movie premiere’s, online workout classes and so much more. As well as lot’s giveaways and collaborations. The ways in which businesses have had to quickly transition online (if they weren’t already) and adapt strategies to cope has been pretty incredible to see across the board. 

I think this year has made businesses realise the importance of effective communications and  marketing. Without the internet it would have been extremely difficult to communicate during lockdown- we continued to stay super connected. We are lucky to have such a connected digital world that allows us to communicate despite geographic boundaries, or even a global pandemic.
