NDIN7: EPOC Idea
It is difficult to conduct an interview with ‘Daigou’ agency in Melbourne at this stage. As my project reveals a social issue and judge daigou’s improper behavior, it’s hard to find someone to seat in front of the camera talking about it. I cannot ask them realize their impacts on the public, and it may also cause their indignation. This is why I have been quite anxious about my EPOC since the beginning.
I tried to come up with some ideas on how to show my project during this break. Some of the idea might help me after I watched the interactive documentary After 6/4. In this documentary, it contains new reports, journalism, photography and personal documentaries of the people whose lives were forever changed by the Tiananmen Square events. It’s a very innovative way to present a documentary, which preserves the perspectives of the time, includes the media both China and west, and places cultural assets side by side in a sophisticated interactive navigational mode.
During the class, by sharing ideas with everyone and discussing with my lecturer, I thought of something else. I was always thinking to finding a relevant person to do the interview, but never thinking to just find an actor or anyone else to act as a Daigou and talk about this issue. Or, it might possible to find a good Daigou who are not hoarding infant formulas, to discuss this issue and present their ideas.
Therefore, according to above-mentioned, my final assessment EPOC(electronic proof of concept) will imitate the form of After 6/4, to collect some news report, journalism, photography, thus providing audience with the research background. In this way, the audiences can click any sources they want to read and watch. Also, a 2-3mins short interview will be provided. In addition, all of them are bilingual, which allows Chinese and native speakers to read them without translation.
Schedule:
