All Bloggers need to understand and preach ethical blogging habits no matter the blogs intentions or audiences.
THE ETHICAL GUIDELINES TO BLOGGING:
- Understand and display the difference between truth (supported with facts) and opinion (should be flagged)
- NAH NAH NAH to Plagiarism ( all ideas pronounced should be of the distinct individual unique voice)
- USE links and give credit (aka use them hyperlinks)
- Make corrections ASAP (basically fix factual errors before you forget)
- BE ENCOURAGE-ABLE (empower the freedom of speech and motivate audience participation)
- Transparency is key (be as open as possible about your personal identity and conflicts of intrest)
- Remember its a PUBLIC site ( consider what you write as to not offend anyone!)
- Take Responsibility! (be present and voice you strong opinion with defiance however be cautious about not offending and using other mediums properly)
- consider the effects (use your unique voice in a positive voice, never degrade and always be humble)
- Create COMMUNITY (interact with other blogs and link them)
As a blogger myself, I’m glad to say that I now know how to conduct a blog ethically and I will make it my mission to achieve and consider every ethical guideline to blogging!
