Just hours ago it was revealed that Morrissey has had ‘cancerous tissue‘ removed four times, talking about his illness in a Spanish interview via the El Mundo. In it’s translation, it was the first time Morrissey had talked about cancer, regardless of previous reports of his diminishing health and issues reported in news. Unafraid of death, the former frontman of The Smiths stated, ‘If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.‘
The 55-year-old is currently finishing his debut novel, which he hopes to publish next year in supplement of his music and future endeavours. ‘In 2013 I published my Autobiography‘, he noted, ‘it has been more successful than any record I have ever released, so, yes, I am midway through my novel. I have my hopes.’ For now, I’m getting out my old discography of The Smiths and enjoying every record again, so hang the DJ.
