HTML DOG x BEGINNING TO WRITE

Basic HTML coding is a little like magic. With the right kind of words, in the write kind of format, something beautiful happens in the process that just may surprise you. Whilst I have had a little experience with encoding and personalising my Tumblr CSS, the site HTML Dog has everything you need when encoding your own pages for the upcoming test. It unpacks the language and explains why certain symbols and combinations work. In my own experience having a practice write-up, a few things stuck out to me that may help those yet to do the upcoming practical test. For example:

  • HTML controls presentation. When writing basic HTML, if something doesn’t look right in context, chances are it probably isn’t going to come out right either.
  • Space things out! We write between the lines on paper, but text coding is unlimited, so it’s good to give yourself room to understand exactly what’s being constructed.
  • If a word is working, ask why? Why is that appearing there? It’s probably as simple as including a bracket or changing a letter.

Good luck everyone, and seriously, check the link!
