5 Week Anniversary of being on the Radio?: The SportsDesk Experience⚽? (SYN Radio)(WK10)

I have been privileged within only a week after completing my Radio Training at SYN Radio to be a part of a magnificent show called the Sports Desk on SYN 90.7 FM.

Today I completed my 6th show on the program after filling in today for someone on the Monday edition of the Sports Desk. I have been the host of the Friday edition of the Sports Desk on SYN 90.7 FM for the last 5 weeks. They have been an incredible 5 weeks, getting comfortable behind the mic and preparing and presenting an entertaining broadcast for the Victorian public. The chance to prepare my own shows and the flexibility to discuss my own content and even the freedom to debate the biggest issues in sports make me so passionate about the show.

I have always enjoyed being the role of an entertainer, being able to make people laugh and keep them interested in whatever routines I was undertaking at the time. With the ambition to eventually become a TV or Radio presenter, the experience I’ve received through SYN has been so valuable to my development as a presenter and as a person. To be able to work with some very knowledgable professionals is an absolute honour and I have fed off their experience to become better at my role.

Although it is an early start, many people I know have listened to the show and love it, it is a great show, with really engaging segments and always a funny story on the horizon. Even if your aren’t a sports fan, there is plenty for everyone on the show and to be a part of it’s success is a real privilege.

If you’re passionate about something you just need to go for it and if you really want to put yourself out there and get more experience and exposure, you have to be willing to go with it and take every opportunity that comes your way. With this hunger to get on radio and present I have been able to find a great role which I have really enjoyed thoroughly so far at SYN, as a student SYN offers the perfect platform for you to grow as a broadcaster; this growth I couldn’t thank them enough for.

Therefore, if you love your sports and you want to keep up to date with all the big news across all codes of sports, be sure to tune into SYN 90.7 FM on Friday’s 9-10am to listen to me and my co-host dissect all the weeks sport and preview the big matches coming up on the weekend.
