Child Wise Beat[ing] the Traffick
COOLING OFF AFTER A HARD RIDE!
http://www.childwise.net/
Some of you may know Matty Lodge or Nick Pearce from around the traps and they are absolute delightful guys! Well after this semester I will be embarking with them on a bit of a journey…
On the 1st of December, we’ll be riding through Vietnam and Cambodia for 9 days (just over 900km) to raise awareness and funds for Child Wise’s “Children are the Bamboo Shoots” program, which works with communities in remote and marginalised areas of Cambodia who are most vulnerable to abuse, exploitation and trafficking.
Child trafficking is truly one of the most deplorable and devastating industries that still exists on a global scale. It’s estimated that 1.2 million children are trafficked each year. We want to try and help to stop this atrocity and need your help.
As most of you know I’m not the fittest guy going around and also haven’t been on a bike since about year 6. However, the challenge is for a really good cause so please support us by donating (even $5 would be awesome), sharing and promoting our cause. You can find our donation page here: v
Tell your family, friends and anyone else who might be able to help us out (Adrian, you mentioned that you enjoy bike riding, a post on the wall would be a great help). We’ll be blogging (video footage included) throughout the trip so you can keep up to date with all our news. With your help we can make a real difference! Stay tuned for more soon…
