This sketch explores how online videos are shared and found by hashtags on Vine. This is done by screen recording which tags are trending on Vine and following links at random to see what other types of tags and links they lead to.
Vine, Twitter and other content sharing platforms on the internet require the use of hashtags to filter and label. In the case study it was the #6secondscare needed for the entries to reach the judges. This is a distinctive characteristic of new media which has been said to combine new technologies with social communication method*. This sketch was originally over 2 minutes long, in following hashtags however I never reached an end there would always be another link if not, another post in the tag will contain links and so on.
