We presented our ten sketches for Project Two on Friday 10th and based on feedback and discussions, have made a rough brainstorm of ideas to explore in Project 3, this includes:
# VINE ‘STYLE’ – Challenging Vine specific creativity
- Does the 6 second constraint lend to a specific kind or style of creativity?
- Will lengthening Vine videos affect or diminish its originality as a specific form or video practise?
- POTENTIAL SKETCHES: Record a 6 second Vine video – Stretch it (slow it down) to 10/20/30 seconds
# COLLAGE/MONTAGE AESTHETIC – NONLINEAR/EXPERIMENTAL VIDEO
– What is its purpose? Is there technique involved? JUXTAPOSITION
– Video Collage/Montage vs PRINT Collage
– How does collage reflect our visual process of perception?
– What makes COLLAGE/MONTAGE video visceral? (DREAM SEQUENCE?) How is that achieved?
– Disjointing to the eye – because it challenges how we generally perceive things – anti-flow –
– REAL TIME vs. REEL TIME (Maria Research)
– Psychological bases for COLLAGE preference
# HASHTAGS – In relation to NARRATIVE STRUCTURE
- Hastags connect – Can they be used to communicate?
# JAIL BREAKING – Phone Hacking – NEW MEDIA only
- Cannot HACK traditional media – e.g. TELEVISION (YOUTUBE ADBLOCKER–NO TV EQUIVALENT)
# VINE Specific DIGITAL MARKETING
- Condensing marketing to fit one individual platform
- NEW MEDIA vs TRADITIONAL MEDIA marketing schemes/plans
# FLIP BOOK VINE
- Combining individual VINE videos to create/complete a narrative
- 6 second narrative sections – IE one for ‘exposition’, one for ‘rising action’, and one for ‘climax’.
# HACKING
