Sketch: Can horror imagery still have an effect without sound design?

This sketch is a video composed solely of visuals and silence. It explores whether a theme (in this case it is horror) can be represented without the aid of sound design.

A video is often defined as ‘a moving image’ however sound is also particularly important. Again using the example of the design of the Horror Vine contest, relaying information such as the winner’s names was done through sound. Using the Vine application to record is limiting in terms of non diegetic sound as you cannot edit or add sounds. This sketch explores how important sound can be in the makeup of a horror-themed micro video.

I have used footage from The Re-Animator (1985) by Stuart Gordon which is within the public domain, retrieved from: https://archive.org/details/Re-Animator_trailer.
