“50 Frames”

“iCue”

This one of the shots I particularly liked. At the start, I was having trouble finding the perfect angle to capture this, but eventually it turned out pretty good. What can I say about this photo? I guess the fact that you can pretty much tell what’s happening from this photo. You can tell that the two guys in the back are having fun. Although their facial expressions cannot be seen, their body movement says otherwise and they’re really enjoying the moment. What I like about the actual pool balls are their round shapes. They’re perfectly symmetrical in terms of shapes.

“Tarneit Station”

This was one of the first photos I took during the week. Funny story about this one, is that I caught the V/Line train from Tarneit Station. As I was sitting on the chair, I took a continuous shot while the train was moving. Interestingly enough, this was one of the few (there was not many to begin with) photos that I could actually talk about. I really liked this photo because the walkway served as a “frame” so to speak – it framed the care in the background, so then the viewers attention is lead to the blue car that’s parked in the background. Perhaps if this was taken in a horizontal shot and not a vertical one, it would make the walkway more visually interesting than it is now.

“Highpoint Shopping Centre”

This photo was really something. I was playing with one-point perspectives – what I learned from doing VisCom in highschool, and it turned out alright. The angle of the shot is perfect, however it’s a bit blurry because it was windy and cold when I took the photo. What I like about this photo, is the mysterious and eerie look that it gives due to the darkness in the background, and the light illuminating the trolleys from above. It looks like an abandoned shopping centre, and a scene from a horror film. Other than the “horror” feel to it,  I guess you can say that the blurriness adds an unusual effect on the photo – it feels like the viewer is in a rush, much like what happens on their daily lives.

“Pacific Werribee”

Out of the 4 photos, this is what I really liked the most. This is another photo that plays on one point perspective, and I could have “framed” this differently or could have re-shot the photo, but I felt like once I re-take the same photo, I lose the essence of reality and I’m not living in the present. Not saying that when I took the first photo, I was in the moment, but I feel like focusing on getting the “right” photo, I miss the opportunity to witness reality. So for now, I this was one of the best ones I took. I like it for the fact that cars acts as the border, and the line leads you to the story – a never ending story. Just the whole framing and composition of it makes it so interesting, I believe.
