Studying American Beauty in high school led me to one of most favoured scenes in cinema; the beauty of the dancing plastic bag consumed me. We studied this film in the narrative component of VCE Media, after analysing the death out of the Sam Mendes film I still found a moment of complete purity and raw emotion in this scene.
