This week, we focused on authenticity and online media. What does it really mean to be authentic and to what extent can one really be authentic? This is a very interesting topic considering today’s online culture. I have seen a few online creators who do not seem to really embrace their life and personality because there is now a lot of competition. I suppose they are afraid that they would not be able to stand out amongst the crowd or perhaps they want to have their own persona. Whatever their reason is, I do think it is important especially for an online creator to stay true to themselves because otherwise they will not be able to gain their audience’s trust.

Instead of a video, this week’s task is all about audio. I have to admit but this is much more challenging than the other assignments. Mostly, I think this is because I do not have much experience when it comes to audio. Personally the most challenging aspect for me is that the background noise is not constant since it is filmed outdoors therefore as a whole it does not sound very consistent. However, I do hope I get better at using microphones and audio editing in general.
