Today is the first lesson of our studio Ecologies of Noticing
I noticed a lot about how this class will be primarily focused on a different way of thinking. One thing I wrote down today was what I will do to increase my learning throughout the duration of this studio.
THIS IS WHAT I WROTE DOWN:
- LISTEN AND TAKE BRIEF NOTES IN CLASS
- READ THE READINGS
- WRTIE NOTES/BLOGS ON THE READINGS
- SEEK NOTES ON READINGS AND FIGURE OUT THE THINGS I DONT UNDERSTAND
- PUT EFFORT IN AND DONT SLACK OFF.
This is basically just my key points to increase my learning and knowledge this semester. I want to keep moving forward and broaden my understanding. At the current time I don’t really understanding this studio or what the actual concept is behind it. I also don’t quite understand what we will be creating throughout it all, but perhaps the point is to not know and just go along with it all.
I noticed today that our course will involve a lot of reading many of which will be heavy and complex. This is a struggle for me in particular as I have a hard time understanding difficult concepts within a reading, so I will try the above things to improve my ability to understand readings. Perhaps this just means i need to source other readings and other ideas in order to make sense of the concepts that are being put in front of me. Im hoping that by the end of this semester I am able to read, understand and communicate text in a far better manner than I currently am.
OTHER THINGS I NOTICED/LEARNT TODAY:
- we will be doing food every Thursday
- we are doing some sort of media exchange with people in Germany
- we must write 3 questions on our reading for Thursday
