Observation #8

I sit down on the cold metallic seat at the tram stop outside RMIT university. My extraordinarily heavy film equipment was digging into my shoulders with the sensation of my body slowly numbing.  On the darkened path in front of me, wet with buckets of rain, and the night itself lit with yellow toned street lamps and tram lights I was really picking up on the dreary winter vibes. Yet within a split second whir of colourful light passed me like a flash of lightning. Attached to this mans wheels of his bike was fairy lights of pink, purple and turquoise, blue, yellows and greens too. The front made a pattern of a spiral and the back wheel had about 5 different stars on them. All were in such contrast to the surroundings. I loved observing how just that little bit of colour and that little bit of uniqueness made me smile. Not only that but made the other man with his headphones on looked up at the same time I did to observe this man and he stared at the bicycle until it could no longer be seen.
