Week 12 Lecture wrap up

OUR LAST LECTURE! so basically this was just of reminders for the last week and they wrapped up the semester, heres what I shouldn’t forget to do before the holidays…

  • back up your audio and video essay’s (project versions e.g.essay update 1, 2 etc.)
  • copy of your files perhaps the cloud or external drive
  • don’t forget Friday next week (week 12 PB4 and 800 word reflection)
  • week 13.2 final reflection blog on the course, what we’ve done in the course, what we’ve learnt, whats the most challenging, what you discovered about your own creative practice, how you learn, link back to earlier posts at least 5 and a learning graph image. Provide a link on google folder.

Our course objectives

  • analysing media
  • analysing our own learning
  • exploring a range of production technologies
  • reflecting upon creative journey in both groups and individual

  4. a sense of your media practice

horizontal axis – divide in to 12 units (for the weeks)

Technical: what we did…

blogging – WordPress platform, publishing online, uploading, downloading, embedding, linking, images and videos, audio recording, video recording, audio and video editing – premiere,

Theory: what we did …

media as an academic discipline, affordances, media as texts, narratives and storytelling, non narrative, audiences, institutions, technologies, linear storytelling, focuses research databases, annotated bib, reading and recognising academic work, sound image video

Professional: what we did …

work ethic/mode, privacy/ethics, processes e..g reading and understanding briefs, peers cohort, peer learning, collaboration and roles, feedback giving taking, verbal feedback and written, feedback before and after submission, broad research skills

Practice: what we did …

creativity (where does it lie, how might you express it), how and where do I learn, craft/skill, passion, reflection, engagement with media environments, contribution to the world/society/culture
