In class we spoke briefly about participation and how would we ourselves assess our own participation. I think for myself I am very involved and participate a lot, I have attended every class despite being late to some of them I still turn up. The journey from my house to class is getting quite difficult, and at times I do struggle to get here on time. My participation in class is probably quite minimal in terms of discussions and asking questions, for me this is perhaps something I need to work on but as the semester progresses I will get more comfortable to do so. For the previous task I put a lot of effort into it. I wrote out the dialog in class and spent an extra hour or two writing up some more then combined my overall piece. I borrowed a camera and set up a time to shoot for a few hours. Then spent the following two days editing and asking friends for help with my premiere issues. With this task I was able to put together a piece of work that I was happy with, there is obviously more I could’ve done with more time but I feel like with what I was given I put in a lot of effort to it. In terms of participating I continually read arians blogs and use my blog quite constantly with class activities and outside things. I also complete the readings required of me but for me personally i really don’t gain a lot from readings so I don’t tend to spend a lot of time on them.
For next week my goals are …
- to complete the readings required, more specifically read 30 pages without rushing through them
- spend an hour pulling apart the essay topic, understanding what is required and gathering resources
- Once the essay is written I aim to spend an hour editing and proof reading (this is something I often leave out but have noticed the importance of it)
- work efficiently in my group for the soundscape
- communicate with my group outside of class to get the tasks completed
