Story Smash:

Today’s class of story lab, brought us to the point of getting a rough idea of where we think we plan on going on developing our story and final project for this semester. The process of the class activity of story smash originally seemed impossibly like bringing together a huge variety of ideas and stories and bring them into the same ‘ universe’. Over the past few weeks we have been implementing different styles of creating story and looking at the process of obtaining our characters, genres etc…. And today we took a new step that I once again helped me really bring together ideas I had not yet formulated and brought them in together with a whole new bunch ideas to potentially create my Story Project.

The group and I decided that using stories we had already fleshed out to a degree was the best course of action in connecting our stories to a degree. What we found was a intricate and fascinating story waiting to be unfolded and only became more and more interesting the further and further ” down the rabbit hole we went”.

Basic plot:  A conspiracy theory about the British Monarchy taking out the First Leader of Scotland in a device to keep the Scottish and British together as one country, which is uncovered by a disgraced MI5 detective, who believe’s theirs more to the case then has been presented.

We also then began to look at proven and non proven conspiracy theories.. looking into true cases and how the characters and ideas we looked at could apply to real life really helped us to further flesh out and breakdown the ideas we presented each other with.

All in all I found that once again a group activity helped me and fellow members of my group this time, pull together our story and give us the tools to best help us bring together ideas we all had, but where struggling to bring to life and thats what I really found most interesting about “Story Smash”
