This week in story lab we began to construct our transmedia stories and really get into the process of releasing our story through our digital and non digital platforms. Our plan for our project/transmedia story is to release a new piece of “evidence” once a week, with the aim to tell the full story over the course of four weeks. Week one had Karl and I creating a newspaper article as part of a non-digital platform to kick of the context of our story. This piece of evidence accompanied by a map of London with a location marked out, all of which are present to the audience in a envelop with a series of numbers on the back. Along with this we decided to release a digital platform to create subtext and get another part of the story from a different angle. In this case we are looking at releasing a series of blog posts, at least once a week to accompany our non-digital platforms.
The execution: By the end of this week we ran into a bit of a set back, our first piece of non-digital evidence was not able to be presented due to some complications. As such we have postponed this till next week along with the next piece. Our blog was set up as planned and turned out great, we are really pleased with it and its is the first offical stage of our story for “Classified”.
So far, despite the complications I think we are all on track. I am really happy with what we have done so far and can only hope we progress without any more issues.
