In Wednesday, we reviewed the scene we filmed last week. Actually, we got more thinking about that exercise. I already talked the importance of cooperation in filming process in last post. Each part of crew has their responsibility in each role. This post I want to focus on the editing and framing part.
In Wednesday class, robin reviewed our editing shot about the group exercise. We got some inspiration through watching others work. The first edited scene from other class, their shot cut in a fluent and tight way. Also, the shot, which they designed, are natural and interesting. However, when I edit the walking shot about scene one, I have not notice the tightness between different shots. I want emphasize the potential relationship between Charlie and Lucy, so I designed two times looking back from Lucy to Charlie. As a result, scene one seems a little long. The high angel shot seems a little weird, also due to the unsuitable length of time. The reason why I use this shot because I want to show the concrete situation about those three people. Viewers are able to use mniscient view to see what happening. The pov shot of Charlie also interesting, we used camera movement instead of his head movement.
As some classmates mentioned that we really need consider about the suitable rhythm of editing. Through this exercise I realized that I rally need improve this part, hoping next time I can do it better.
