In this week symposium, all the teachers and students are discuss one popular question is that is technology neural? In my perspective, the answer is so obvious. Of course not. The technology in themselves are not neutral.
“So the iPhone isn’t the problem, it’s our hearts in relation to the iPhone. The internet isn’t the problem, it’s what we put onto the internet, or what we download from it. The thing, in itself, isn’t evil. It’s what we do with the thing.”( Mike Cosper 2011)
Technology won’t ask people to do anything, so any decision which made by human are depend on their own desire. The numbers of new technology used in medical science, the scientist utilize them in a reasonable way, it is directly develop the society. Also the gun is controversial topic. Some people think gun is not a good invention, because it make killing happened, however, “If there were no sin in the world, there would be no need for assault rifles with armor-piercing bullets. So its goodness is limited to an unfortunate but necessary function inside of a sin-shattered world.” ( Mike Cosper 2011) When get it, but i doesn’t mean we must use it, but in some situation, some people need it. “it’s merely to point out that these objects influence us profoundly because they open possibilities and make easier a whole world of action that was previously unavailable or much more difficult. “( Mike Cosper 2011)
So, the technology in themselves are not neutral, the people need establish appropriate boundaries if is possible, and do it more better.
