blog #91: day three

Day three, update: I’m still breathing.

Sunday is full on for me, as usual – what day isn’t? When thinking about my online media use I usually go to what I use the most, but now I’m thinking about what I use seldom… Uber. I used Uber today to get back to my car after staying the night at a friends house and I love how quick and easy it is. Uber has been driving people around in Australia since the end of 2012, and since then I can confidently say that I have never taken a taxi since downloading the Uber app. Uber is half the price of a taxi, so much cleaner and so much more secure. The reason why the Uber app works so well is it’s interface is easy to understand and navigate through, and their marketing is arguably the best in the game. Uber gives out free rides to their customers, when a customer invites another user to Uber and enters their promo code, that person gets a free ride – genius!

The app is used over 1,000,000 times a day worldwide and it’s not hard to see why, with the inclusion of UberEats and UberVino, the Uber phenomenon is well and truly still alive. When using the app, I’m only on there for about 4-5 minutes to request a drive, enter my location, see the fare estimate and then the driver is usually at my location within that amount of time… that’s why I absolutely love the app! The data usage is relatively low and that keeps me a happy chappy!

While I used Uber today, I also spread my online media use out to other things such as: emails on Outlook, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, iMessage and a bunch of other stuff… I think tomorrow I may record my Snapchat usage!
