Third and final year, and this semester I’m taking on a great new subject… Networked Media. Led by Seth (this semester I have Seth for 2 of my subjects!), we’ll learn all about online media – in particular, blogging. While I have a little bit of background on blogging through Media 1, I wouldn’t by any means call myself a blogger or an online pro. Media 1 opened up my eyes into this whole new world, and I can’t wait for Seth to keep my levels of intrigue with this subject going strong and open up some fun and exciting avenues.
In our first tutorial, Seth basically just ran us through the course and answered any of our questions in regards to the course outline and all of the assessments that we have coming up. I’ll just be using my blog, this one that we’re currently on, as my blog as I love the fact that there has been a consistent flow throughout the past 3 years and this entire blog will be like a one-stop-shop for all things blogging. There were a lot of things from the first tutorial that I loved, mostly in regards to how different Seth will be running this class – especially as I have him for another subject, so it’s great to see some diversity. The idea of ‘flipped classrooms’, which I’ll be exploring in another blog post, the fact that we all share a common ground in regards to a lack of understanding behind the intricacies of blogging and the very easy to understand assessments are all things that I love about this class – I can’t wait to jump right in and get things moving! This entry was basically just getting back into the swing of things and kicking things off with a little entry on Networked Media!
