blog #54: seedy sunday

After finishing work late last night and staying up until an unreasonable hour, I had every excuse to justify my sleeping in until midday. Now that I’ve got the house to myself (my grandma is away visiting my family in Adelaide), I’ve realised just how much effort goes into running a household – of this size – alone. Having to re-light the candle that my grandma has burning all day, every day proved a little difficult as this was my first time but eventually I got there. Amidst doing all the dishes, washing my clothes, cleaning my room, making my bed and cooking some brunch, I’ve finally sat down for a long afternoon of homework, homework and more homework.

First things first is completing a few blogs as d-day is looming for the submission of these blogs… something I’ve actually found to be quite cathartic! After I’ve smashed out a couple of these, it’s off to start (and hopefully finish) my annotated bibliography for Popular Culture in Everyday Life. As I’ve already completed two of these already (one for Media 1 and one for Music in Popular Culture) this should come fairly easily. The good thing is, as well, that we’ve already got our sources so we just have to write about them!

I really love the connections and similarities between all the topics, whether they have similar assignment aspects, or they talk about the same ideas in lectures and tutorials, I’ve found the whole start of my first year to be engaging and closely related which makes it all the more interesting!
